The European Movement has organised a series of three events in three European capitals to mark the 50th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome. EU-turn was given the task of looking after all the coordination and production for this ambitious project, whose aim was to communicate the benefits of 50 years of Europe as widely as possible to European citizens.

First of all, to reach the largest possible audience, we opened up prestigious locations related to the European project that are rarely accessible to the public. The locations were: in Brussels, Val Duchesse; in Paris, le salon de l’Horloge du Quai d’Orsay; in Rome, the Campidoglio. Different family activities were arranged in each place, including an educational trail presenting European integration based on major themes and an exhibition on the negotiations about the Treaties of Rome. This exhibition was produced based on documents from archives that we collected, especially from private collections of the protagonists of the negotiations (Paul-Henri Spaak or Baron Snoy for example). The exhibition and the trail were produced in several languages depending on the target country (French and Dutch for Belgium; French, English and German for France; Italian, French and English for Italy). Finally, we developed several partnerships with the local press (newspapers, TVs, radios) in order to obtain satisfactory media coverage.

We attracted over 60,000 visitors to Brussels and Paris. In addition to the publicity, we benefited from several reports by national TVs and various articles in national and local newspapers.
