The MEF introduces itself

The Mouvement européen France (MEF) is an association with brings together men, women and associations which, beyond their political affiliation, want to work towards building a federal Europe.

For MEF, we have produced a film introducing the association to set out the objectives that it has always set itself. The first part of the film introduces MEF’s work to inform citizens and get them interested in Europe. The second part encourages viewers to take on a role as an active European citizen. The guiding thread of the film was “The Europe that I want for the 50 years to come”.

A film crew was in Paris during the European days of heritage to film people visiting two exhibitions in two different places – the Quai d’Orsay and the Maison de l’Europe – and enjoying some organised activities. Our two journalists recorded some visitors’ comments about their perception of Europe in their daily lives and their wishes for the future. Our team interviewed personalities from MEF, French and European politicians, MEF volunteers and members.

During these interviews, European current affairs issues were addressed, raising relevant issues and offering some answers to the problems. Interviewees also spoke about the dysfunctional elements of the EU. Draft solutions, major areas for reflection as well as what is at stake during the next legislature of the European Parliament were presented as an invitation for reflection and debate.

Through these images, the film particularly highlighted the dynamism of MEF actions and members. The film is therefore a complete communication tool for MEF. It is distributed to its members and offered to its partners as part of a long-term approach, given to volunteers working to promote Europe through awareness-raising actions and a short version of it is put online so that it is broadcast more widely.
