Urban Housing Intergroup | Communication strategy - 10/07/2009

Launched in February 2005, the European Parliament’s Urban Housing Intergroup is made of MEPs from different political groups and committees. The aim of the Urban Housing Intergroup is to inject dynamism into urban policy, facilitate the exchange of good practices in Europe and find solutions to the challenges generated by socio-economic changes in European towns.

EU-turn has developed a service which takes into the diversity of interlocutors of the Urban Housing Intergroup (institutions, member states, NGOs, private actors etc.) and the range of issues that it covers (housing, urban renewal, social housing, rehabilitation etc.) to create a coherent and effective communications strategy.

EU-turn has been working closely with the Urban Housing Intergroup for a year. We have offered it bespoke advice that incorporates both a full consultancy service, our team’s high responsiveness and communication support services. Our strategy-related advice allows the Intergroup to position itself as an innovating interlocutor and as being responsive in its subject area.

Our team regularly drafts Intergroup press releases. In parallel, we do monitoring work to produce updates on hot issues and positions that are relevant for the Intergroup. For example, we offered it a selection of themes and speakers for themed lunches which allowed its members to exchange their points of view and good practices with a guest as well as create an active and broad network.
