Who benefits?

To mark its fiftieth anniversary, the European Investment Bank wanted to produce an informative film for the general public. The idea was to use concrete examples to show the bank’s work and its impact on the level and quality of life of citizens, both in the EU and in other regions of the world.

EU-turn travelled, produced pictures, carried out interviews, put together, produced and subtitled the film. The following examples of projects are among the issues addressed:

• Developing microcredit in Tunisia
• Building schools in Scotland
• Financing a thermo-solar power plant in Spain
• A water treatment plant in Poland
• Investment in the development of more environmental automotive engines in Austria
• Financing a bridge combining road and rail transport between Sweden and Denmark
• Building social housing in South Africa
